<\/span>MEMORANDUM Dear Members,<\/p>\n We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding the licensing pathways offered by the College of Licensed Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB).<\/p>\n Following a recent meeting, the Board has voted to approve the recommendation brought forward by the Registrar and the Registration Committee to discontinue the Experienced Practitioner Route to licensing<\/b>, effective January 1, 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n As many of you are aware, the Experienced Practitioner Route was created at the conclusion of the grandfathering period when the College was first established. This route was intended to provide a streamlined path to licensure for individuals with extensive counselling therapy experience prior to application.<\/p>\n Now that the College has been in operation for eight years, there has been ample opportunity for qualified individuals to take advantage of this route. With the regulatory framework well established, the time has come to retire this transitional option in order to maintain consistency and fairness in our licensing processes moving forward.<\/p>\n To ensure a smooth transition, individuals still wishing to apply through the Experienced Practitioner Route will have two final registration opportunities<\/b>\u2014June 26 and October 9, 2025<\/b>. After this date, no new applications under this route will be accepted.<\/p>\n We kindly ask all members to help us spread the word by sharing this information with any colleagues or peers who may be eligible and interested in applying under the current criteria. If they intend to pursue this pathway, we strongly encourage them to do so within the remaining timeframe.<\/p>\n Thank you for your ongoing dedication to the counselling therapy profession in New Brunswick and for supporting the continued growth and integrity of the College.
