Step 2: Have I done the following?
If you are transfering from another province please note that due to differing criteria from some provincial regulatory bodies, we ask that you review our eligibility criteria before submitting your interprovincial transfer request.

1) Have I read the CCTNB standards of practice, code of ethics and by-laws?

2) Can I obtain a transcript from my Masters Degree?
You will need to submit the Masters Level University Transcript used to obtain licensure elsewhere in Canada (used for statistical purposes only – not to evaluate application)
3) Do I have/can I obtain $2 Million in liability insurance?
At the time of applying you must provide proof of professional liability insurance for a minimum amount of $2 million per claim.

If you are covered by an employer, you will need to submit this additional form: Insured by Employer form.
4) Is my resume up to date and does it include my counselling experience (ex. my practicum)?
At the time of application you will need to submit an up-to-date resume, with details of your academic qualifications, counseling training, and relevant work experience.
Your work experience should be chronological and include your internship experience.
5) Do I know where and how to get a criminal record check that includes a vulnerable sector screening?
All applicants are required to have a criminal record and vulnerable sector done within the last year.
6) Can I obtain a professional reference letter?
All applicants are required to have a reference letter from a clinical supervisor or colleague in a non-compliant relationship to the applicant, attesting to the applicant’s good character.
7) Do I have a supervisor lined up?
All applicants must have a signed agreement with an approved supervisor (see list of approved supervisors here) as part of their application process. Use the list of supervisors to find a supervisor who specializes in your scope of practice and has availability to take on new supervisee’s.
8) Do I have a copy of my current Provincial/Territorial license?
You will need a copy of your current Provincial / Territorial license.
9) Can I request a letter be sent from each registering body I am currently being licensed through to CCTNB?
You will need an original letter from each registering body with whom you are registered, to attest to your good standing with that College/licensing body.

Step 3: Apply
There are a number of forms that make up your application to become an LCT-C with CCTNB. We’ve split them up into two types: 1) Forms you need to download, fill out, and/or acquire and submit to CCTNB yourself. 2) Forms or documents you need others to send directly to CCTNB on your behalf. This first section highlights forms you need to submit yourself.
Have all the forms in this section completed and in PDF Format? Great! You can submit your files using one of the following options.
1) Upload files through Member365 (Recommended).
2) Emailing PDF’s or scans of documents to info@cctnb.ca. Pictures will not be accepted.

1) Download and Fill Out Interprovincial Transfer Application
This is primary application form to apply for your transfer. Make sure you have all your supporting documents and information before filling out this form as it will make it easier to complete.
2) Master Level Transcript Used for obtaining current license (PDF).
3) Copy of Current Provincial / Territorial licenses (PDF).
4) Download and Fill Out Supervision Agreement Form
This form is an agreement between you and your potential supervisor. This should be filled out, reviewed and signed by both you and your supervisor.
5) Request a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check from your local RCMP Office. Scan to PDF if necessary.
6) Export your resumé as a PDF file.
7) Proof of professional liability insurance ($2 Million). Scan or export to PDF if necessary.

Step 4: Pay Fees
You are almost there! Last step is to submit your application fee. There are two fees to be aware of.
Application Fee
This fee is required as the final step of your application process once you have submitted all your documents. The fee for application is $100. You can submit your payment using one of the following options.
1) Submit payment through your Member 365 Portal
OR
2) You can e-transfer to info@cctnb.ca
Pro-Rated Annual Membership Fee
Once your application has been reviewed by the Committee, we will send you an email within 5-10 business days letting you know if you have been accepted as a member, along with a link to pay your yearly dues. Yearlys dues are normally $460/year however, dues are pro-rated to reflect the date of acceptance into the College. This is a seperate fee from the application fee.
